Historically, the AOP Châteauneuf-du-Pape dates back to the 16th century. The Domaine du Grand Tinel's history began in 1968 with the marriage of Christiane Establet and Pierre Élie Jeune. Today, this Domaine represents 53 hectares of vineyards, with most of the vineyards being very old (about 75 years). These older vines contribute to a greater concentration of aromas and flavors in the wine. Currently, the Estate is managed by their children Isabelle, Béatrice, and Christophe.
Appellation: Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Region: Southern Rhone Valley
Grape variety:100% Roussanne
Winemaking:Crafted from carefully selected Roussanne grapes grown on old vines, which are gently pressed with only the finest juices retained. After cold settling, fermentation takes place at controlled low temperatures (15–17°C) in new oak barrels to preserve aromatic purity while building texture. The wine does not undergo malolactic fermentation, allowing it to retain freshness and precision. It is then aged for around six months on its lees in barrel, with regular bâtonnage to enhance richness and complexity, before a final selection and blending prior to bottling.
Tasting Notes:Les Roussannes de Charles, comes from 40-year-old Roussanne vines grown on the Crousroute and Boursan parcels in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The terroir of sandy-clay soils with galets roulés promotes optimal ripening while preserving freshness, giving the wine both richness and balance. Crafted by Domaine du Grand Tinel, it highlights the depth, texture, and floral elegance typical of this prestigious Rhône appellation.

Vintage 2024: 98 Points Jeb Dunnuck
"Coming from the Bois de Boursan and Crousroute lieux-dits, the 2024 Châteauneuf Du Pape Les Roussannes De Charles is a bigger, richer wine offering ripe stone fruits, brioche, orange marmalade, and honeyed flowers. Based on 100% Roussanne and aged six months in 100% new French oak, it's medium to full-bodied, with a pure, concentrated, layered mouthfeel, brilliant mid-palate concentration, integrated acidity, and a great finish. It comes closest in style to Beaucastel's Roussanne Vieilles Vignes and is an absolutely brilliant effort that gains freshness with time in the glass. There are a scant 100 cases of this beauty. If you see a bottle, buy it. Drink 2025-2040"
