11 ha estate owned by Famille Quiot since 1864, located 4 km from Châteauneuf-du-Pape, on a preserved north-west plateau above the Rhône. Single vineyard block, including a “Collection” parcel with all authorized Châteauneuf-du-Pape grapes. The wine reflects the minerality of its limestone terroir. Vinified with Roussanne aged in barrels, it offers a full-bodied palate with white flower and peach aromas.
Appellation: Chateauneuf-du-Pape
Region: Southern Rhone Valley
Grape Varieties: Bourboulenc, Clairette, Grenache Blanc, Roussanne
Winemaking: Pneumatic pressing, cold static settling, 4 months on lees, no malolactic fermentation. Roussanne is vinified and aged in barrels before final blending.
Tasting Notes: “Lively with prickly acidity driving ripe, juicy core of star fruit and white peach. Garigue, heather and hint of lemon pith add complexity, all washed over with cooling wet stone minerality. Medium bodied with nice fruit purity and just barest hint of buttercream.” From Wine Spectator
Food Pairing: Beautiful with seafood risotto, grilled sea bass, roast chicken with herbs, goat cheese tart, and delicate puff pastry appetizers.
