Morandé - Vigno

$0.00

A wine that embodies the winemaking tradition of the Maule coastal drylands. Made from old Carignan vines grown using the gobelet method, this blend with Syrah is part of Chile's first recognized appellation of origin: VIGNO. Its deep and vibrant character, the result of poor soils, a humid Mediterranean climate, and traditional techniques, faithfully expresses the heritage of the valley and the spirit of collaboration that gave rise to it.

Appellation: D.O. Santa Elena de Loncomilla

Region: Maule Valley

Grape Varieties: 88% Carignan, 12% Syrah

Winemaking: Hand-picked grapes undergo a 3-day pre-fermentation cold soak, followed by alcoholic fermentation and post-fermentation maceration for 32-35 days.

Tasting Notes: Intense purplish red color, aroma of sour cherries, black plums, and violets. Flavors of juicy red fruit, light oak notes, and great freshness. Pair with pot roasts, game meats.

Food Pairing: Perfectly complements pot roasts, beef tartar, rabbit stew, Asturian bean stew, game meats, and stick-roasted lamb.

Ratings:

2021 Vintage: 94+/100 Robert Parker & 94/100 Vinous
