FIERROCA is a unique and unrepeatable Grand Cru red wine from Casa Agrícola.
Appellation: D.O. Alicante Marina Alta
Grape Variety: 100% Giró
Winemaking: Handpicked and fermented in small stainless steel tanks with native yeasts, FIERROCA undergoes malolactic fermentation in 1-year-old Allier French oak barrels and remains in them for 10 months until bottling.
Tasting Notes: Powerful mouth that reminds us of iron soils and blood notes.
Food Pairing: Tuna, full-flavored fish, paellas, rabbit with snails, pasta, white meats, Iberian meat, mild grills, sausage, cheese.
Ratings:
Vintage 2024: 96 Points Wine Advocate.
“The 2024 Fierroca comes from their most special Giró vineyard, a place with 60-year-old vines on shallow and stony soils with sand and iron. The wine aged in a 1,000-liter foudre and a used 500-liter barrel for one year. This has the iron notes of blood and raw meat from the Giró in a more explicit way. When it stays in the glass for a while, it develops more smoky/toasty notes, showing very young. The palate is very serious, with a well-built structure and great balance between the components, coming through as vibrant and very harmonious. It has contained ripeness and 13.5% alcohol, keeping 6.2 grams of acidity. This is only the third vintage bottled since 2020. 1,950 bottles produced. It was bottled in November 2025.” - Luis Gutiérrez
